Forced Out of Your Industry? Create A New One and Do It Better.

The Story

In the mythical world of “Radio Land” ratings are king. If you bring in ratings, you bring in advertisers thus you bring in money. When you’re #1 with your target demographic in a large market like Los Angeles you figure you would have some job security. Then one day your entire radio station decides to switch formats and you are out of a job.

You have been forced out of your industry. You feel sorry for yourself for a little while then you decide to do something productive while you wait for a new opportunity to get back on the radio and earn a living. So you start podcasting the same show that got canceled and eventually you get picked up by another radio station…only to get fired again.

My Top 10 Favorite Infographics

When I think of what makes a great infographic it usually needs to have two main components, visual and informational.

Visual

It needs to achieve the first goal of being attractive.  Lots of colors and pictures will grab a readers attention and make the information you are displaying fun to read.  But there cannot be so much going on that the reader will become overwhelmed.

Informational

The second goal is it needs to convey simplified information, almost bullet points on a subject that is interesting to its viewers.  I should be able to follow an infograhpic and come away with a decent understanding about the subject that was being discussed.

Here are my 10 favorite infograhpics.  It was hard to narrow it down to 10 so if I left off your favorites please comment and share your favorite!
